Usually, a wedding dress is a dream for the bride. In this case, the designer might have been just as elated.

Beverly Hills-based designer Amy Wong Micucci created a dress for Operation Dream Dress, a contest sponsored by Brides magazine.

Judges included “Project Runway’s” Austin Scarlett, and Micucci was surprised with the win live on “Good Morning America” in June.

Micucci has worked for Bebe and Levi Strauss and is launching a bridesmaids collection next spring.

She won $10,000 and her design adorns the cover of the November/December issue of Brides magazine, which is now available. It will be for sale for $499 by special order through David’s Bridal starting Monday.

David’s Bridal has stores in Orange, Costa Mesa and Brea.
