More Holiday Shopping:
This year, the entire family has decided to donate to Second Harvest. So, in answer to your question, we’re shopping at our local grocery store whenever is convenient.
I do the bulk of my holiday shopping at garage sales in North OC beginning around August. It’s amazing the quality items I find, and the fun I have in my search!
I shop at Nordstrom Rack, Toys R Us and cruise the malls. Christmas is especially for kids. I shop for the Grandchildren from September on, looking for the desired item at a good price. Family and togetherness is the essence of Christmas. Shopping is just a small part of Christmas
My husband and I have started a tradition of doing the bulk of our shopping on Black Friday. We are both used to early rising for our jobs so the hours don’t bother us at all. This also allows us to hang out a little and get some great deals. We browse the ads to see where we will focus our main attention. He is much more “pushy” than I so he grabs the hot ticket items. By noon we are usually tired and the shopping is all done.
We try to do most of our shopping online for Christmas - it’s easier to comparison shop, there’s no lines, and many places offer free shipping. However, we are also planning on visiting the Farmer’s Market in LA and Shoreline Villiage in Long Beach to possibly pick up some more funky items. We like to support local artists when we can.
Even though my husband is layed off we still want to celebrate the season - just scaled back. Going to do the bulk of our Christmas shopping on Black Friday to try and get the best deals. Best Buy, Target, Banana Republic, Nordstrom Rack and Old Navy are all on my list to visit. We are also sponsoring several “wishes” from our Church’s wish tree - I plan on buying those toys at Target. : ) Happy Holidays everyone!!
I love shopping at the Mall, and Khol’s.
Normally the whole family goes to Black Friday at various stores so we can buy as many toys as possible for a Christmas party we host where each child in attendance gets a toy. We then donate the rest of the toys to our local firestations for Toys for Tots. My regular shopping starts as soon as I see something I think someone would like and it continues on through December!
I will do my shopping at ticketmaster. I have found that the most wonderful gift is time with family and friends. When you buy them tickets to go to an event with you, you guarantee time spent and memories to be made.
Even though the economy has hit our family hard this year, my husband and I hope to keep the holiday tradition in our immediate family going. Every year we allow our four children to purchase holiday gifts for each other. Of course there’s a limit, but they always seem to be very frugal in their purchases and the purchases they make seem to make their siblings happy. It’s always great to see their reactions on Christmas morning.
Happy Holidays!
I do most the family holiday shopping online before Thanksgiving weekend. No worries, about the car getting dented, always plenty of inventory, and everything arrives just in time to wrap and put under the tree.
We exchange names in our family, so shopping is easy and gifts are thoughtful since we are each buying for one family member. And of course, my gifts always come from a local boutiques. I find the best gifts at Patina in Costa Mesa, Tres Chic in Newport Beach, Petals on 6th in Huntington Beach, Blue Windows in Belmont Shore, and Angel Wings in San Clemente.
Nordstrom’s Holiday Shopping Party for Cardholders! 10 rewards points to the dollar? I’m there!
South Coast Plaza on the day before Christmas Eve!!
Online deals of the day! Been working on it for awhile now!
I usually start my Christmas shopping on Black Friday. Arriving early at South Coast Plaza and leaving around lunchtime works well.
For the last couple years I have done quite a bit of my Christmas shopping online, particularly through sites like Amazon, eBay, and Overstock. I usually have a pretty good idea of what I’m going to purchase so I am able to comparison shop and then buy online. For last minute gifts, I like to shop at Cost Plus, Pier 1, Nordstrom Rack, and Marshall’s.
I have completed the majority of my shopping “on-line” and with coupons AND in my velour track suit! tee-hee
Online–especially if I can get free shipping. South Coast Plaza is another favorite.
Honestly I usually procrastinate on my holiday shopping. I don’t usually do it all at once so I start looking around after Thanksgiving. I shop around for things and because times are tough right now I’m only getting gifts for my immediate family and then I’m doing secret santa with the rest of my family and friends. Places you’ll find me shopping are Target, Old Navy, various places at Brea or Main Place mall, also stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls.
