I can’t think of anyone else who can mix grunge and red carpet with such finesse. And yet, Kristen Stewart, famously awkward and uncomfortable with fame, is able to do it.

Even before sporting a near-mullet for her upcoming role as Joan Jett, the “Twilight: New Moon” star embraced an edgy, rocker style, even wearing Converse hi-tops once on the red carpet.

Stewart, who once went blond, now prefers the color black, short dresses and skinny pants. The Oscar de la Renta gown she wears at right for Monday’s “New Moon” premiere is a perfect formal interpretation of her typical style — it’s pretty, but not too pretty.
